Case Notes
Fifteen months after reduction mammaplasty, you're looking at what the healing process looks like well past the early post-op phase. This patient was 18 years old and weighed 162 lbs at the time of surgery. Reduction mammaplasty removes excess breast tissue and repositions the nipple-areola complex to a higher location on the chest wall. The after photo shows the incision pattern visible along the lower pole of each breast, which is a normal and expected part of this procedure. Scars at 15 months are still maturing and will continue to fade beyond this point. Results vary from patient to patient. Add this to your favorites to reference at your consultation.
