Case Notes
This is a breast reduction case for a 39-year-old patient weighing 163 lbs. Excess breast tissue and skin were removed, and the nipple-areola complexes were repositioned to a higher point on the chest wall. The after photo is taken at 16 months post-op, so what you're seeing is a well-settled result, not early swelling. Periareolar scarring is visible in the after image, consistent with the incision pattern used to reposition the nipple-areola complex. Scar maturation continues beyond 16 months in most patients. If you're considering a reduction and want to understand how planning is approached for your anatomy, Dr. Danielle DeLuca-Pytell MD can walk you through the options.
