Neurotoxins, trade names Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, and Jeuveau, are injected in small doses into specific muscles to temporarily stop movement. Common areas are the muscles between and above the eyebrows, the muscles of the forehead, and the muscles around the eyes. It can also be used in small doses in the muscles around the mouth.
The procedure is very quick (a few minutes) and the results are visible in a few days and will be fully active at two weeks. The reduction in motion will last for three months, though some report improvement in the wrinkles and creases treated longer than that.
