What to expect at your first appointment with Dr. DeLuca-Pytell:

Welcome!  Thank you for choosing to me to help you achieve your goals.  Here is a guide to help you for your first appointment.

Please arrive early to your appointment.  This will give you time to fill out a brief medical history that I will review with you during our time together (you can also download this and do it at home).  It will also allow us to spend more time talking about your concerns.  If you have any reports from a surgeon who has treated you in the past or photographs you would like to share, feel free to bring those as well.  If you have had implants placed before, please bring your implant card or other record of your implant volume.

Bring a list of questions you would like.  I find it helpful if they are written on paper so you don’t forget anything.  I’m more than happy to answer them all.

Bring a friend or a family member to the consultation to remind you of questions or for a second set of ears, but try to leave your little ones at home.  I love children but am easily distracted by them.  I want to concentrate on you.

After we talk and discuss your history, I will examine you privately.  This may involve measuring.  I apologize in advance if my hands are cold.  I will ask you to get dressed before we talk again.  I find people remember things better when they have their clothes on.  No pictures of you will be taken before I have met you.

Feel free to write anything down that we discuss.  You will receive written instructions for before and after care if we decide surgery is right for you.
