Case Notes
This is a bilateral breast implant revision case in a 50-year-old woman weighing 140 lbs. Her existing saline implants were removed along with a bilateral capsulectomy, which involves taking out the scar tissue capsule that forms around any implant over time. The saline implants were then exchanged for 350cc Mentor MemoryGel silicone gel implants. The after photo is taken four months post-op, and you can see the implants sitting in position as the tissues continue to settle. If you're considering a similar exchange from saline to silicone gel, the capsulectomy step is worth discussing at your consultation, since capsule management is planned case by case. Individual results vary.
