Case Notes
This is an abdominoplasty case for a 40-year-old woman weighing 150 lbs. The before photo shows significant skin laxity and excess tissue across the entire abdominal wall, with visible stretch marks extending from the lower abdomen upward. The abdominoplasty addressed that excess skin and underlying tissue, with the after photo taken at 12 months post-op showing a low, horizontal scar sitting just above the underwear line. The umbilicus was repositioned as part of the procedure, and the abdominal wall appears flat and smooth at this point in healing. Scar maturation continues beyond 12 months, so what you see here isn't the final state of the incision line.
