Case Notes
Seven months after surgery, you can see the low horizontal scar sitting just above the bikini line, with the abdominal contour noticeably flatter across the front. This patient, a 50-year-old woman weighing 190 lbs, had an abdominoplasty combined with liposuction to the bilateral flanks, hips, and upper back. The abdominoplasty addressed excess abdominal skin and tissue, while the liposuction extended the work laterally and posteriorly to treat the flanks and back in the same operative setting. Planning the two procedures together allowed the contouring to extend beyond the front of the abdomen. The after photo is taken at the seven-month mark, when post-operative swelling has largely resolved. Individual results vary.
