Eleven months after abdominoplasty, you're looking at the anterior abdomen of a 40-year-old woman, 140 lbs, photographed at rest. The before photo shows loose skin across the lower and mid-abdomen, along with visible laxity below the navel. Abdominoplasty addresses excess abdominal skin and, where indicated, the underlying muscle wall. The after photo, taken at the eleven-month mark, shows a flatter abdominal contour with the navel repositioned and the lower skin removed. Residual scar tissue is visible low on the abdomen, which is expected at this stage of healing and continues to fade over time. Individual results vary from patient to patient.
